I am an Old School Guy having been involved for close to 20 years now. 923556_10152032442174205_5572603164708362254_n

I am one of the first fathers in Ohio and definitely one of the first in my county to get equal custody when Ohio’s “shared parenting” law was new.

Old School Guys were taught to approach the problem differently and case problems differently and without whining about the amount of research and work that was required.  We were taught by the real men that started the “fathers’ rights” movement not those that claim to be leaders today.  I have worked with guys that most of you never heard of and have sat at the table with them, exchanged phone calls and emails well before there was Facebook or text messages. Internet was dial-up when I started and very few states had their laws on line.  Yes I am that old.

Old School Guys kick you in the seat and point you in the right direction vs. the newer guys who want to join a pity party for you.

Old School Guys buy you the beer after your work is done.

Old School Guys ask questions so you get the right answer not this “In my case” garbage that is based on emotion; our answers are based on law, case law and procedure.

Old School Guys know the “game” better than the attorneys that so often fall into believing that the status quo is acceptable and what is going to happen in every case.

Old School Guys are actually working on changes to the law without whining about the problems and trying to raise awareness. I have written and introduced 4 bills in Ohio with another soon to come. I have written the ballot intuitive that will go on the Nebraska ballot next year. I am currently working on proposals with and for multiple states across the country.

Old School Guys actually read state laws and case law. We don’t take someone else’s word for it.

FBBSOld School Guys verify information before they believe what someone says. When some started preaching that Americans needed to bring in the Swedish model of family law, I went and read it. It is the same as we have here and no better.

Old School Guys don’t preach to the choir on Facebook. It wastes time that can better be directed to accomplishing changes.

Old School Guys are friends with legislators, judges and attorneys in real life. There is a wealth of info that can be gained by being so and talking through them in a reasonable manner.

Old School Guys can answer the questions of a legislator before they ask it and they answer them honestly.

Old School Guys understand politics, government and the politics of politics. There are distinct differences between all three.

Old School Guys know jurisdiction, horizontally and vertically.

Old School Guys understand both State and United States Constitutions and how to properly apply them. They do not interpret it for themselves.

Old School Guys know who to talk to and where to get the right information to move a bill or proposal forward. None of this is or can be done by “dumb” phone. It is all computer work.

Old School Guys know that the days of raising awareness have long passed. The problems within the state laws are well known to those of us that have been around for years. I don't preach to the “choir”, I speak to those that can help to get the changes going.

Old School Guys teach how to do it and it not by protest or talking about “your” case. I never speak unless I have a solution in hand. By the end of this year there will be 4 bills on other subjects that affect parents written by me introduced in Ohio alone. All we are waiting for on those is the outcome of a couple cases in various courts here.

Old School Guys do not make the same mistakes over and over that have failed in the past. They come up with new methods and fine tune them so that they work.

Old School Guys create new arguments based on all previous case law so that everyone wins when a single case wins.

butthurt Old School Guys do not accept the status quo nor do they accept those that keep spinning wheels to keep it.

If an Old School Guy offends you it is your problem, not ours.

Ohio Family Rights is a national free association of like minded people that work to comprehensively change the way that states and the courts view custody between divorced and never married people.  We have dedicated ourselves to correcting what has long been a major problem of socially engineering fit parents from the lives of their child every day. This goal can only be accomplished by comprehensively correcting the flaws within the “Shared Parenting laws” that are currently in place so that all fit parents and their children can benefit from equal custody. Please join us in our efforts to protect the families of this nation and the future of our children.
